VALIDATION CERTIFICATE
Every piece of pearl jewelry purchased from Gallery of Pearls (with a purchase price of $500 or more), comes with a Certified Validation Certificate verifying the authenticity of the pearls. Our pearls are appraised by a certified Gemological Institute of America (GIA) graduate, signifying accomplishment, credibility, and professional distinction.
The “validation certificate” will accurately detail the replacement value of the specific pearl jewelry piece purchased. This is an important piece of documentation for insurance purposes and for your own personal records. It states the retail price at which you could replace the pearls at a retail jewelry establishment. In the event of loss, damage, or theft, this certificate is valid and adequate documentation when replacing your pearls with comparable pearl jewelry. The validation certificate is a signed, written document specifying the quality of the pearls including pearl type, setting, type of clasp, gold or silver content, size of pearls, pearl color, intensity of luster, degree of roundness, and surface quality. For pearl necklaces and bracelets, the certificate also describes the length of the strand, whether or not it is knotted and the matching characteristics of the pearls on the strand.
Note: : Since the jewelry insurance industry recommends that consumers insure jewelry over $500, we do not normally issue a Validation Certificate for pearl jewelry with a value of less than $500 unless requested by the customer.
