Pearl Pendant
The pearl pendant style necklace is the second most desired pearl necklace jewelry for a woman. A single pearl or cluster of pearls at the end of a gold or silver chain creates a very striking look that reflects the class, elegance and natural beauty of the woman wearing it.
Pearl pendants can come in all shapes, sizes and colors; however, the most common is a single round 10mm or larger pearl that is white, gold, or black (Tahitian) in color. The pearl type can be Freshwater, Akoya, Tahitian or South Sea. A freshwater pearl pendant will be the least expensive and can be as large as 11mm, and the South Sea pearl pendant with a maximum size of 20mm will be the most expensive. The pearl may also be combined with small brilliant diamonds to accentuate the pearl solitaire. The chain for the pendant is usually yellow gold, white gold, or sterling silver and the style of the chain (thickness, cut, color) will also greatly enhance the overall beauty of the pearl pendant.
Another reason why pearl pendants are so popular is that the pendant can easily be changed out with another style and color pearl pendant, thus making it a very versatile piece that is used for formal, business, and dressy social occasions.
